Each year St. John’s welcomes visitors from all over the world. From May through October, the church is open every day for guided tours or for those who just wish to take a moment or for those who wish to walk about absorbing our beautiful church and the presence of God.

During other months, the church is open for service on Sundays and visitors are welcome to come to service or shortly after for a visit. As well, there are a  number of year-round tours in Lunenburg, which include a visit to St. John’s.

The church remains an architectural marvel, particularly after the post-fire restoration. On October 31, 2001 a fire broke out in the church which subsequently destroyed almost the entire structure.  In November work started on the restoration and St. John’s Church was rededicated in a service on June 12, 2005.
